Memorial Tree Program

All city parks are incorporated in the Chilton Tree Board Memorial Tree Program.  A tree is a perfect way to honor a person and help the community.  The tree will be planted by the city in the name of the honoree at one of Chilton's parks.  Purchasers can select the tree species or the Chilton Tree Board will assist in making the tree selection.

Planting Memorial Trees Will:

  • Honor a living or deceased relative, friend, or a member of your organization.
  • Commemorate a special day or event.
  • Provide a positive impact on our environment.
  • Help beautify our community.

How the Memorial Tree Program Works:

  • Orders received by April 1st will be planted in late April or early May.  Orders received by September 1st will be planted in late September or early October. (Planting schedules may be affected by weather and the availability and type of tree selected)
  • Memorial Trees are approximately 2 to 2 1/2" caliber trees, with a minimum purchase price of $550, plus an Administrative Fee of $20 and sales tax.
  • The City of Chilton will replace any Memorial Tree if found dead within one (1) year after the original planting.  There is no warranty if Memorial Tree is planted on School District of Chilton property (Memorial Grove Designated Areas).
  • Memorial Trees can be planted in the following areas:
    • Hobart Park
    • Hobart Field (area along Ball Diamond)
    • Klinkner Park
    • Morrissey Park
    • Nennig Park
    • Riverside Park
    • Along Riverwalk
    • City Hall
  • The City of Chilton will purchase plant and water the tree.  Once the tree is planted the purchaser will be invoiced for the tree.
