The City of Chilton strives to hire highly motivated and well trained police officers for our community.  The duties of a patrol officer is to serve and protect the citizens of City of Chilton.  Candidates must have working knowledge of federal laws, state statutes, and city ordinances.  Candidates must also exhibit a considerable amount of discretion and initiative when dealing with citizens of the community.  The candidate must be physically fit, be able to perform all essential functions of a police officer's job and must be able to use all standard police equipment, techniques and use of force options.  

Qualifications Needed:

  • United States Citizen of at least 20 years of age
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License/Good Driving Record
  • Possess at least 60 college credits/Associate's Degree in Police Science or a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a related field
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • No Felony or Domestic Abuse related convictions
  • Ability to Possess a Firearm/Use all Standard Law Enforcement Equipment
  • Ability to Work Effectively to Stressful Situations
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
