Sex Offenders
In 1997 the State of Wisconsin enacted the Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Law. Due to the provisions within the law, the Chilton Police Department and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections work together to monitor and track people convicted of sex crimes. The Department of Corrections also established the State of Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry website, which provides sex offender information for police, victims, and the general public.
This website is designed to enhance public safety by making the information contained in the Sex Offender Registry easily accessible to the public. We, the Chilton Police Department, encourages residents to view the website, which is designed to enhance public awareness about sexual violence and provide valuable information about the ways in which individuals and communities can protect themselves and those they love from acts of sexual violence.
